Out with the old, and in with the NEW!

So we got a new tv. I know, maybe not a big deal to everyone else. We have had the same tv since we got married almost 5 years ago. It was nice at the time. Now it looks terribly ancient. We have wanted a new tv for so long, but you know life and bills get in the way for us quite often. We went this morning and picked out a new one. Yay for us I am so excited. I took pictures so you could see how far tvs have come in five years.

Oh yeah, Christmas!

Christmas was great! The kids were very happy with what they got. Santa was very good to them this year. Even though Santa is on a very tight budget. haha. Owen received a Dragon Castle, V-tech motion (gaming system), Rex from Toy Story, Toy Story 1,2 and 3 dvds and his very own cd player. Avery received a Tinker Bell kitchen set, an Ariel doll, a Sit n' Spin, a play vacuum and a Tinker Bell chair that is her size. I love to see the kid's faces on Christmas. It was a great time, but honestly I could not be happier that it is over. Yay, on to a New Year!

Gingerbread House

Remember how I am trying to get in the Christmas spirit? Well, we thought it would be fun to do a gingerbread house with the kids. It was fun. It was also funny to see how badly Avery wanted to eat the candy. That's all she cared about. Owen did really well placing candy on the house. Literally seconds after we finished, the house calapsed and we enjoyed eating it. :)

Getting in the spirit!

Well, Christmas is almost here. Where does the time go? Life has been so crazy lately it has been really hard even thinking about Christmas. I know it isn't just me. I've talked to a lot of people who are having the same problem. You know, not really in the Christmas spirit. I want to feel it. This weekend is the goal. I am going to try my hardest to feel the spirit of Christmas.

Last weekend I tried the same thing. Not as hard as I am going to try this weekend. Anyway we went to Festival of Trees last weekend and I am just getting around to posting on it. It was really neat. I love to see all of the themes that people come up with. It's so amazing how many people dedicate their time in creating these amazing trees and donate them to charity. I just love it. You can tell they are made with such love and great intentions. Everytime I go I start thinking, oh I am going to do that next year. I start imagining all the different themes I could come up with and why I would choose that one. It really was such a fun time and hopefully next year I will be bloging about a tree I have donated.

Avery is ready to go see the trees.

What is happiness?

Happiness is a state of mind or feeling characterized by contentment, love, satisfaction, pleasure or joy.

(I wanted to write some big spiel on what happiness is, but I kept looking at the answer given by Wikpedia above and couldn't get anywhere. It sums it up, and to be honest I always like sweet, short and to the point answers. The truth is we choose to be happy! I'm just at a point in my life where I am looking at what truly makes me happy.) This blog is for my own theraputic reasons. Please don't judge. It's me ranting. It doesn't always come out how I'd like.

I am Thankful!

Thankful for...Owen, Avery, and Jeremy of coarse.
Family (each and every one of them) A job to provide,
a roof over my families heads, food on the table, utilities,
a bed, a car, my hair, frozen waffles, pajama pants, my
scentsy, Black Friday, tax returns, red box, high heels,
dove deodorant. So, yes this list could go on and on. I do
believe it is important to be thankful for the the things
that we have. Mostly I am THANKFUL for
OPPORTUNITIES. We live in such a wonderful country
where we can strive to be better each day and to make
our lives into what we want them to be.
P.S. I am also thankful for those that read my blog ;) Muah!

A Fall Walk

Went for a walk with the kids to enjoy
the last bit of fall! Notice Avery's new smile,
eyes wide shut. By the way I am so grateful
to have a super hero for a son. Owen also had
an idea to start a fire with his sticks. Good
times with my cute babies!

I knew the day would come...

I knew the day would come when my daughter would get into my makeup. I didn't know it would happen twice within a couple days of each other. My assumption would have been that Avery would go for the lipstick, or maybe even the blush. NOPE, my daughter went for the mascara. AHHH. The first time wasn't so bad, the second on the other..... Well, take a look for yourself. Quite entertaining.

2nd time in the makeup! MASCARA!

J and I

I love this man. I have loved this man since I was 16 years old. We fight all of the time. I'm not lying. We literally agree to disagree. We have been through a lot in our 7 1/2 years together. I appreciate all of the ups and downs. I know our struggles make us a stronger couple. I appreciate his patience and his unconditional love towards me. It means the world knowing that I have THAT kind of LOVE!

I love you Jeremy Evan Beecher!

Halloween!

Halloween was fun this year, except for the part where we got drenched by the rain while trick or treating. Oh and the part where our friends son Luke got sick and had to go home. But all in all we really did have a great Halloween. We made Halloween appetizers and gave them fun names at my mom inlaw's. It was set up so cute, we couldn't help but have a good time.

This was fun to make!

Shrunken witch heads (cute cupcakes)

Cutest Superman & Tinkerbell ever!

I like to make the kid's buckets to match their costumes.

Pickin Punkinies!

Avery calls pumpkins, punkinies! Now our family calls them that. She says it so cute. There is a pumpkin patch right near our house called Pack's Pumpkin Patch. Of coarse it's a tradition to go and pick our pumpkins, take them home, wash em and CaRvE them. Mwahahah!

Here are a few pictures from our fun tradition!

Owen's Birthday Weekend

My Owen turned five years old on October 18th! I can't believe he is five. I remember the day I had him like it was yesterday. It's hard to believe I almost lost him. My labor was not a great experience the day I had him. After about 16 hours of labor, Owen was born. While I was holding him his heart stopped completely. If a nurse hadn't walked in at the exact moment she had, I would not have my son. They ran him down the hall and got his heart going again. It was a very scary experience. It is a blessing that he is in our lives. Owen has completely changed all of the people around him. He means the world to Jeremy and I. I love him more than words can express.

I always want to remember how he played with my hair as I fed him a bottle as a baby, how he slept with limbs hanging out of his crib, his "scary face", his pouty lip, and his love for cars. I always want to remember how he would climb into his toy box to play, his silly hair that sticks straight up in the back, and how he could read the Spooky Old Tree a million times and it would still be his favorite book. I always want to remember my son as child. It hurts me to think he is getting older. I always want him to be my baby, even though I know he has to grow up. This child has made me a better person all around and I can't wait to see what the next five years bring.

Owen I love you as big as the sky!
For his five year milestone he had a birthday weekend including a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle birthday party, a ReAl soccer game, and a trip to Lagoon with mom and dad!

Oktoberfest! (J's Birthday)

Jeremy's birthday is October third which happend to land on a Sunday. His birthday is three days later than mine and we end up celebrating together most of the time. I really wanted to do something way fun for his birthday this year considering we have been through many trials this last year. I think he deserved a special birthday.

I came up with the idea of going to Oktoberfest! I thought it would be a nice getaway going to the mountain. Oktoberfest is held at SnowBird. It's a German holiday which includes lots of food and of coarse BEER!

We invited Ashley, Dylan, their kids and Jeremy's friend Matt. It couln't have gone better. It was the most beautiful fall day. All the kids behaved themselves quite well and we really enjoyed ourselves.

After Oktoberfest I made Jeremy''s birthday dinner which included pot roast, mashed potatoes and Marie Calender's pies for dessert.

Happy Birthday Honey!
